A fanatical birder blogging about Screech owls in owl box, backyard birding and wildlife in the Northeast USA.
Those are some terrific pictures! That cute owl would be a lifer for me.
Those 3 pictures have to be in your "Perfect Picture" file.
As they say: "Even a blind squirrel finds a nut" and I definitely got VERY lucky when I took these pictures. I was hoping to get some great shots of the LEO's but they are always neatly tucked into thick cover. The LEO's I saw on Saturday actually left their initial roost spot after being mobbed by crows, but they still managed to find some thick cedar cover. If it wasn't for the fact that I heard the crows as I was making my way back to the LEO's I wouldn't have even seen them again. To me the mystery and elusiveness of owls is what makes them so amazing. They are literally all around us yet they manage to keep such a low profile that they are seldom spotted. I know I've said this a lot but seeing an owl is a MASSIVE privilege and being able to record the event makes it even more special! Thanks for the kind words Lynne and Richard and for stopping in.
These are some of my fave of all owls! Stunning photos!
