An event like this is an opportunity to reflect on how fragile the gift of life can be. I realize that Tiggie was only a cat, but he had been part of our life for 7 fun years. Sadly he picked up a bacterial infection that went from his GI tract into his lungs – very fast. The vet said he hasn't seen this happen very often and I think even he was shocked at how quickly the disease spread. It was so shocking because I figured he’d be up and about in a few days and instead he’s gone forever now. It just goes to show that we need to live our lives with purpose everyday because we never know what lies in store for us. I just hope his not so little buddy (Thumper) handles it well. At the moment he's walking around looking for Tiggie.... I guess time will tell
Oh Owlman, I'm sorry to hear about poor Tiggie. It's hard enough for us to lose a pet, but when there's no way to explain it to your pet's buddy it makes it even harder. I hope your family has some good Tiggie memories.

I'm so sorry you lost your Tiggie. I just lost my dog, Clive, in January so I know how much it hurts.
I'm so sorry for your loss. Losing a pet really hurts. We recently lost one of our ferrets. Tiggie was a handsome boy!
