Thanks a lot Mon@rch. These photos were actually taken coming back from my last owl prowl. I was on a pretty major 4 line road and I saw the RTH just sitting there, so I pulled over. I normally don't have my camera and I figured I would take a few quick shots. The RTH flew off and sat a little further off the road. I snapped two pics through the passenger side window and then he took off. I managed to snap the pic as he took off. I quickly looked at the preview of the image and I was amazed I got it. Just goes to show, the adage 'even a blind squirrel finds a nut' holds true. I guess I need to just keep bumbling along and maybe I’ll bump into some more nuts along the way…hmm, that didn’t come out quite right – but I think you get my drift.
Beautiful photos! You obviously have a talent for taking pictures as well as for spotting birds.
I have been having unexpected photo ops lately, but unfortunately, I haven't been able to take advantage of the moments; e.g., the Cooper's Hawk on the telephone pole as I cruised up 301 at 60 mph; the glossy ibises on the side of the road when I was late for my doctor appointment...I could go on. How frustrating! :)
