Nothing says Spring like......................

To me Spring isn't 'real' until I hear and see the Tree Swallows zooming around the garden. This morning I had one of the early scouts checking out the nesting boxes and it brought and instant smile to my dial. Soon the battle for housing will begin between the Blue birds and the Tree Swallows. The Blue birds will definitely take one house, while the Tree Swallows will take the other two.
What signals Spring for you?

Robins singing their evening song.

Good one Lynne. That reminds me, I had a resident Catbird last year that would sit singing for an hour before sunset. He would sit right next to my deck and it was such a lazy, relaxing sing song. I hope he comes back soon! Actually this bird LOVED to sing, so it must have been a lady ;-)

Wonderful pictures! A real treat. Spring for me is the arrival of Robins. My Mom would call when she first saw one and say" Spring is here!" So I always know just when spring arrives.

Temps are still in the 30's here. The real spring happens about summer time. :)

Redwing blackbirds for me. In this part of the world, we have a few wintering robins, so when I hear the blackbirds sing, good weather is sure to follow!
Loved the video!

Wow that's a tough one owlman!! I think this year it was a combination of a few good birds. The morning that I heard the song sparrow singing was a real spring awakening. The vultures overhead in groups of 5 or more, and one of my favorites was the peenting of the woodcock in my back “40”! No tree swallows yet but they should arrive any day now! I have to say that one of my favorite arrivals is that of the Clay-colored Sparrow that spends its summer here at my place. I LOVE to hear the “buzz buzz buzz” that starts just about a month from today!!
Thanks for visiting my blog and I think it is a awesome web that links us all together! I’ll be back!

Welcome Stacey. Wow I looked at your 3 (excuse us) blogs and you have MAGNIFICENT pictures. I guess Eve and I are going to have to start a spreadsheet to see who owes who.....

Do you havea bird that signals Spring for you?

Beckie and Lynne mentioned Robins but we have them year round, so that doesn't work for me. I do love the Robins though. Jochen has dibs on the Barn Swallows but kind of tie in with my Tree Swallows. Hannibal has the red wings which I get year round too. Eve has Clay colored sparrow which I don't think I've seen, so that makes me very envious. I must say I love the little Chipping sparrows in summer. Hearing them chipping around the garden is a real treat.

Thanks for stopping by everyone. Dave I only have one thing to say to you: BOoooooooo! See I can still be scary even without the mask..

Take care everyone and have a festive birding weekend.
