Live Owlcams: Update

Tawny owlets in Estonia

Well it seems like many of you are hooked on the Great Horned Owl cam located in a planter at the Brevard County Commission building. It looks like the pair is successfully raising a single check. I have checked in with them during the day, but haven't seen the chick being fed. I'm assuming that most of the feeding is taking place during the evenings.
If you'd like to watch owlets being fed then check out the come back kids in Estonia. The Tawny owl nest was raided by a Pine Martin back on March 22nd. I think most people assumed that they would abandon the nest, but as it turns out they re-nested and they currently have four fluffy owlets. The 7 hour time difference makes it perfect to watch these guys as they are fed during the evening so make sure to check them out. If you want to watch the webcam using your media player click here. If you'd like to see some screenshots over the months and read more about the project click here.

I'm still alive

Just a quick note to say I am still alive and kicking. I have been pretty busy setting up a veggie garden, finishing up my basement and general kid/family activities - so blogging and birding has taken a back seat. On a good birding note I did have my first garden Turkey yesterday morning.

Best of birding to you!
